7-Day Tufi Resort and Tribal Village Retreat

Day 1: Sunday 2023: You’ll arrive in Papua New Guinea and the Pepeta tour staff will warmly welcome you at Jackson’s International Airport, Port Moresby. They will then assist with your luggage and transfer to your hotel accommodation in Port Moresby ensuring a pleasant start to your time in PNG. Once checked in, you’ll enjoy an overnight stay in comfortable accommodation in Port Moresby.

Day 2: Monday 2023: On day 2, after an early hotel checkout, you’ll take a domestic flight to Tufi at 6:30am where the Tufi resort staff will greet you at Tufi airport and transfer you to the Tufi Dive Resort. Here you can enjoy a range of fun optional activities:

• • Diving – some of the best diving in PNG
  • Kayaking – within the Tufi fjord
  • Komoa Beach – across the fjord, white sandy beach and snorkelling
  • Suicide Lookout walk – spectacular walk along the ridge top between the fjords
  • Sunset cruise
  • Dinner and overnight at Tufi dive resort.​

Day 3: Tuesday 2023: The third day begins with breakfast and a morning transfer to Tufi village guesthouse. You’ll then join a tribal village walking tour – your local guide will take you on a tour​ of the village, so you can learn about the typical village lifestyle. In the afternoon there are two activities for you to enjoy:
1. The local tribesmen/women will perform a local dance. This is great opportunity for you to learn about the local dance and traditional costumes.
2. Learn about the significance of traditional tapa cloth making, one to one interaction with local tribe women/men.
Dinner and overnight at village guesthouse.

Day 4: Wednesday 2023: Get ready for a day of fun village activities! You could even begin your last day in the village guesthouse with an optional swim and snorkel before breakfast, just ask your host! After breakfast, we have a list of optional activities that you can choose to do or pre-arrange for you:

Morning activities

• Traditional fishing trip using the ‘stone fishing’ method. ​
• Reef snorkelling, can be combined with fishing.
• Traditional fishnet making.
• Lunch at the village guesthouse. ​

Afternoon activities:

• Female tattoo making demonstration. ​
• Traditional cooking.
• Tonight, will be a traditional dinner ​demonstrated and prepared by local women for you.

Day 5: Thursday 2023: On day 5 of your awesome trip, you’ll return to Tufi resort following breakfast. Once more, you have a range of exciting activities you can take part in or you could just sit back and do nothing!

• Diving – some of the best diving in PNG
• Kayaking – within the Tufi fjord
• Komoa beach – across the fjord, white sandy beach and snorkelling
• Suicide Lookout walk – spectacular walk along the ridge top between the fjords
• Sunset Fjord cruise – highly recommended!
• Lunch and dinner inclusive at Tufi Resort.

Day 6: Friday 2023: The penultimate day of your trip starts with an early morning breakfast and a 07:45am flight to Port Moresby. You’ll then have a meet and greet with the Pepeta PNG team at the airport who will assist with your hotel accommodation transfer. Following your hotel check in, the Pepeta PNG team will take you to visit three highlights of Port Moresby: The Moresby Nature Park, National Museum and Art Gallery, and National Parliament House. In the evening you’ll have dinner before spending your final night in comfortable accommodation in Port Morseby.

Day 7: Saturday 2023: Today you wake up in Port Moresby, after 7 days of traveling to Tufi one of PNG’s great attractions and experiencing diverse cultures and nature, you will finally be fare-welling P.N.G. Depending on your international flight schedule you can work around your time to do as you wish. Your local host/s will assist you should you need any. The Pepeta PNG staff will of course assist you with transit to the international terminal so right until we wave goodbye, you don’t need to worry.
